The Natural Sequence of Things
Real learning can only take place when the teacher can identify and lay out the natural sequence of things for the student in his ultimate search for the meaning of things.
For example, consider there is a natural sequence in farming, preparing and serving a holiday meal, or writing a poem. There is also a natural sequence to starting a business, making a bed, and studying astronomy. And it almost goes without saying there is a natural sequence to the order of worship in a church service (liturgy), memorizing the catechism, and learning a new language.
For everything there is a meaning and a natural sequence of things. It is the teachers’ job to know both and help the student discover the same.
New to this site. Glad I found it! Im hoping to start a classical Christian school in my area soon (Central Arkansas) and this is a great resource to learn and share with others interested! Thanks
