Ep. 88 – Dr. Robert Woods on The Great Conversation

This is Episode 88 of the Consortium Podcast, an academic audio blog of Kepler Education.

In this episode, Dr. Woods introduces his new annotated version of Robert Hutchins’s book: The Great Conversation: The Substance of a Liberal Education. He shares his methods and philosophy behind the annotations and who the desired audience for this rich work is.

Dr. Woods and Dr. Postma go on to discuss the dangers of public schools today, Kepler’s dual enrollment program partnering with Faulkner University, and the faithful men and women teaching these courses.

Kepler’s Consortiums provide resources and regional connections for Christian families, teachers, and educational organizations to expand the reach of classical education and foster human flourishing for generations to come.

Robert M. Woods holds a BA in biblical studies and ministry from Point University, an MA in religious studies from Barry University, a PhD in humanities from Florida State University, and a Doctor of Arts from Harrison Middleton University. After developing and chairing the Great Books Honors College at Faulkner University for over fifteen years, and serving as headmaster at two prominent classical Christian schools, he now serves as the director of graduate studies in the humanities at Faulkner University and dean of academics at Kepler Education.

He also enjoys consulting and speaking about how to implement Adler’s Paideia approach in classical schools. He writes at Robert’s Substack.
